About Address Privacy Guide

We exist to solve one specific problem: state Address Confidentiality Program information is scattered, written for bureaucrats, and almost never explained clearly. This site changes that.

What This Site Is

Address Privacy Guide is an independent informational website dedicated to explaining Address Confidentiality Programs (ACPs) across all 50 states. We translate official government program documentation into plain-English guides that people can actually use — people who are navigating dangerous situations and need clear, accurate information quickly.

Every piece of content on this site is based on official state government sources: Secretary of State and Attorney General program pages, state statutes, and program documentation. We do not publish opinion, speculation, or unverified claims about how these programs work.

Why We Built This

Address Confidentiality Programs are among the most valuable and underutilized safety resources available to survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Every state in the country has some form of address privacy protection — yet most people in dangerous situations have never heard of these programs, and those who have often can't figure out how to apply because the information is buried in dense government PDFs and statutory language.

The gap between "this program exists" and "I successfully enrolled and my address is protected" is a documentation and accessibility problem. That is what this site addresses.

Our Editorial Approach

We follow these principles in every piece of content we publish:

What This Site Is Not

How the Site Is Funded

Address Privacy Guide displays Google AdSense advertising. We do not accept sponsored content, affiliate commissions, or payments to promote specific services. Our editorial content is independent of our advertising. We do not recommend paid address privacy services over free state programs — we consistently direct readers to free government programs first.
